Hi y’all! Long time no see! Or in this case read *monkey face covering eyes emoji* I have ghosted on the blog and the gram for far too long and frankly the only thing to do here now is to just chat with you as to why.

Back in May, I was able to start a new gig that has me going 8 hours a day but frankly I’m left mentally drained by the end of it. Working on my blog was creating more of a stress factor than a stress reliever so I decided to step away for the first few weeks. While I gave myself a blog-free break, I was still checking out my favorite bloggers and I ended up psyching myself out from creating new content. Geez, we truly are our own worst critic! Thoughts like “is my content worth looking at” and “who is taking time to read” were discouraging. With that mentality it just created another excuse to delay from blogging. Weeks passed and before I knew it, I celebrated my birthday in June. I was able to spend it with loved ones who kept asking how my blog was going. Being able to talk about my insecurities with them, made me realize I should share this with you. The whole point of me loving blogs and following blogs is the authenticity of it so I should be authentic with you guys here in this little corner of the internet. The insecurities got the better of me, y’all. It blocked my creativity but admitting it is a step forward for me to create new content. I truly love writing and sharing style tips with you all. I appreciate your patience and support whoever you are….whether it’s one of you or a dozen or more.

And on a lighter note: hope everyone is having an awesome start this month. Already August but it feels like we can get away with dressing in summer and fall outfits at this point haha.  One of my favorite patterns that are perfect for those in-between seasons outfits is gingham. You can wear it with favorite white denim or skort! I lucked out by finding mine in Zara a year ago but if I find it available somewhere else I’ll let you guys know.

Hope you guys enjoyed my little chit chat today. Have you guys been feeling this same type of way lately? How was your summer? Any plans this fall?! Would love to hear from y’all ❤

PS- Check on my Instagram @TrendyCitrus this weekend! I’m going to share  something pretty rad on my IG story ;D

  TGIT! How this week is almost over amazes and concerns me just a tad bit haha. I’m so excited to share with you guys today one of my favorite work outfits: mixing jewel tones and adding stripes to the mix. *Side note: jewel tones are colors such as green, blue, black, yellow and red- they tend to resemble gemstones*

Experimenting with color combos is one of those things I love to do but I tend to try it out at work first since I’m there like 80% of the time. So quick story time! A few months back, I found this green skirt on sale at HM for $5! I bought it from the issa cheap impulse but once I brought it home with me I realized I don’t really wear emerald green anything. That’s when experimenting colors came into play. Adding my navy blue striped tee and my yellow work bag, I realized this was a cute combo to wear in the warmer months at work. The bright colors are great spring to summer transition, don’t you agree? And of course bonus points that I can wear this from desk to dinner afterwards 😉

Hope you all have a great weekend! I’m pretty excited to see a couple of my besties graduating so I’ll be keeping y’all posted on Insta @TrendyCitrus. See you Monday!

 Hi y’all! As you might have noticed, I’ve been a bit MIA in this little corner of the internet for a couple of weeks again. I’m just finding it a little harder to be inspired on outfit ideas to be honest. I seriously would love to know how my favorite bloggers do it haha ❤ Pero anyway, I’m back to posting twice a week here so expect new content Mondays and Thursdays- thanks to the Instagram story poll feedback I got! #Shamelessplug: Follow me on Instagram @TrendyCitrus for daily style inspo (:

I’m not sure about you guys but Mondays are a bit more dull than other weekdays in my opinion, so I decided to brighten it up here on the blog by sharing my latest Target find and it’s all yellow *cue Coldplay’s song*

Yellow is just one of those colors that I always want to experiment in but never find enough of a selection at stores until now. It seems yellow is trending this season and I couldn’t be happier! Originally, I was planning on sharing this with the matching palazzo pants but I haven’t had the chance to tailor them #shortgirlproblems. My favorite part about this top would have to be how it ties in the back! Open back detail works amazing in this Florida weather. I can already see myself having this top in rotation every week ❤

PS- Both this top and the matching “floral print printed palazzo” pants are on sale in Target right now ladies!

Crochet + Scallops

Happy Friday y’all! Sorry for posting this so late in the day but hey this can make up for your light reading quota of the day 😉  Anywho, before I, myself, log off to a fun date night with el catrin, I wanted to share with y’all another fun spring look and it has scallops *heart eyed emoji*

As I mention earlier this week, scalloped clothing will forever hold a place in my heart- such a timeless trend! If you haven’t jumped on this wagon yet, I suggest checking out the Forever 21 website. They have the cutest scalloped clothing right now that is budget friendly. That’s actually where I found my scalloped skirt.

White and pink are my favorite colors in case I haven’t mentioned it yet so I wanted to share with you guys how sweet it looks for attire to a brunch or a Sunday morning service. Although this white crochet top was a birthday gift from a couple of years back (thanks again Linett!), I find so much use for it for these days of sunshine and warm breezes. Can I just say crochet and scallops are just a match made in spring fashion heaven?! Plus, adding a hint of mint into the mix gives it just the amount of pop I need so I don’t come off too matchy-matchy- which I don’t mind at times, it just depends on how I’m feeling that day ❤

Hope everyone has survived this first week of April being busy as bees! (sorry I’m a sucker for alliterations haha)

Love from Tampa,

Jessica Nathalie

Red Scalloped Romper

Romper: Marshall’s Monteau “Red Scalloped Romper” | Shoes: Coach “‘Marina’ Strappy Platform Sandal” | Bag: Forever 21 “Round Straw Crossbody Bag” | Bracelets: Alex and Ani

I’m not sure if I mentioned this before but I’ve been trying to stay on budget lately. Real talk, though guys, as a new time blogger I am finding myself in a bit of struggle in not shopping all these new trends so I decided for the next couple of weeks, I’m going to be sharing easy spring outfits where trendy and classic meet and you can easily remake from your closet or a store near you- depending on your budget (;

As we’re in full gear in spring, bold colors are just as acceptable as pastels. So to begin with this sunny month of April, I wanted to share with y’all this red scalloped romper! I’ve been obsessed with scalloped detailing since high school. It just gives off a blend of preppy and classic vibes. When I spotted this red romper in Marshalls a few years back I just knew it’s a piece I can wear literally year-round. Red is one of those colors that are socially acceptable to wear and honestly I’m appreciating that fact so much more during my mini shopping fast hiatus.

Accessorizing this romper really depends on the occasion you’re going to. For a casual sushi date with girlfriends, I wore this with my tan mules but for more of a “dress up” occasion I can opt for nude heels like shown above!

Maybe it’s because of spring being in the air, but I’m seriously considering spring cleaning my closet and selling clothes I love but no longer wear as a way to help me stay on budget. What do you girls think? Should I sell via Poshmark or Instagram? Would love to hear from you!

PS- Poshmark sells this exact romper for the cheap! Just use keywords: “monteau red scalloped romper”

Easter in Neutrals

TGIT y’all! For my second Easter outfit idea, I wanted to show you how a classy look in neutrals can be just as easy to remake last minute for this weekend.

When I think of classy, I think of  Audrey Hepburn- the classiest chick Hollywood ever did see. So many were inspired by her love of chic simplicity, take, for example, characters Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl and Veronica Lodge from Riverdale! These ladies are all about pearls and black as the chic neutral so I decided why not bring it together in an easy Easter look? I found this gorgeous black top with pearls stitch on the collar from Zara and paired it with a white skirt. Black and white…can you name a better duo (;

As a pop of color, you can add any fun pair of heels- my pick are these baby blues that I also scored from Zara. (Zara will forever be a favorite store of mine #foreverbroke haha) Whether you’re in neutrals or pastels, I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend no matter how you spend it ❤

Easter in Pastels

Anyone else taken by surprise that Easter is next Sunday?! For this week, I wanted to share two easy Easter outfit ideas for those of us who are on a time crunch and on a budget.

I’ll be the first to admit that I tend to leave holiday-related wardrobe to the last minute! Sometimes last minute means going to my closet rather than the store since I find myself on a budget. I’m sure y’all can relate! What’s amazing about your closet is that you tend to already own clothes you love and it’s just a matter of mixing it into a new outfit. For my pastel lovers out there, I styled this outfit especially for you! I went with this blue lace skirt I scored from Forever 21 a couple of years back and styled it with this key holed white top from Zara. To complete this outfit, I added my pair of pink heels which I found at Kohl’s on sale.

On Thursday I’ll be sharing another sweet Easter look that you can just as easily remake! As much as I love sharing these outfit ideas with you all, I also want to take this time to share the reason behind this beautiful holiday weekend. His act of love that resulted into His resurrection is something to be celebrated every day. If you want to know more or would like to find a place in Tampa to celebrate this Friday night and/or Sunday morning, I would love for you to reach out to me via Instagram on @TrendyCitrus or email trendycitrus@gmail.com. Wishing you all a beautiful and wonderful week filled in pastels ❤

White on White

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 preset

Top: Forever 21 “Sheer Mesh Swiss Dot Bodysuit” | Pants: Nordstrom Topshop “Joni Skinny Moto Jeans” | Shoes: Target Universal Thread “Whisper Woven Backless Slip On Mules” | Bag: Forever 21 “Round Straw Crossbody Bag” | Watch: Michael Kors | Necklace: Starfish Project “Katherine Gold & Pearl Necklace” | Bracelets: Alex and Ani

One of my favorite color combinations that I love to wear would have to be white on white. There’s just something so crisp and put together when you combine two white pieces from your closet. You definitely should try it this season!

Last month I decided to go out of my comfort zone and get this mesh white bodysuit which is still on sale on Forever 21’s website (I prefer online over going to the store any day haha). The Swiss dot detailing on the back was what caught my attention so I wanted to give it a try. Mesh is usually a clothing material I steer clear from since I can be a bit too modest for my own good *monkey face covering eyes emoji* Also, I’ll be honest and admit that I own only 3 bodysuits (this one being my third). Bodysuits are a trend that I love but I constantly have to try on in order to make sure it fits right- either they’re too tight or too loose #petitegirlproblems.

Since the weather is delightfully cool here in Florida, I decided on wearing it with white jeans but a white denim skirt would make such a sweet all white ensemble as well. As a finishing detail, I added the most precious pair of tan mules I found at *pause for effect* Target! I was not kidding when I mentioned on the Tuesday’s post that I left with so many Target finds haha. But seriously, I can’t recommend these mules enough-they’re so cute, comfy and look great on this white on white outfit (;

How will you try the white on white look this spring? Would love to hear from you!

Mas Amor Por Favor

Top: Target A New Day “Women’s Graphic Short Sleeve T-Shirt” | Bottoms: Marshalls | Belt: Michael Kors (Found at Marshalls) | Shoes: Shopbop Cynthia Vincent “Palace Gladiator Espadrilles” (sold out) | Bag: Forever 21 “Round Straw Crossbody Bag” | Watch: Apple “Series 1” | Bracelets: Alex and Ani | Nails: Revlon Color Stay Gel Envy 420 “Winning Streak”

It is officially spring time and with it comes the longer, sunnier days *yellow heart emoji* I personally love it because the wardrobe of a FL girl is pretty much acceptable everywhere now –hello denim shorts!

A white tee shirt and denim shorts combo can go a long way during this season so why not own this white tee that has this cute phrase “Mas amor por favor” meaning more love please? When I saw this in Target online, I LOVED it! Literally drove to my nearest Target to get my hands on it and frankly left with way too many Target finds such as those spotted mules from last week’s post haha. What I love about this tee, besides the eye catching phrase, is the overall quality of it. The beading on the lettering and the cotton material makes the t-shirt something easy to throw on during the day or night in this warmer weather. Oh and did I mention this nice quality tee is only $10?! Talk about being affordable and on trend! Let’s do a well-deserved slow clap for Target haha.

For this casual on-the-go look, I went with my black gladiator espadrilles but I love that I can dress this combo up with wedges for a night out just as easily. You guys, this has got to be my favorite Target t-shirt find to date #truth

Wishing you all a wonderful start to spring full of amor from Florida,

Jessica Nathalie

  You know what I love most of a trend? When it becomes a classic staple…when it transcends seasons and becomes something you just love adding to your wardrobe no matter what year it is!

Enter these new leopard print pair of mules that I will adore forever and ever *heart eyed emoji* When I spotted these beauties in Target it was by accident since I was on a quick #TargetRun that had absolutely nothing to do with shoe shopping (doesn’t it always start that way? Haha) But once I saw them, I knew I had to have them! The espadrille detail makes this the perfect leopard print to wear all spring and summer. I guess you truly can never have enough leopard print shoes *monkey face covering eyes emoji* (you can see how I styled my first pair of leopard print mules by entering Trend Spotted: Leopard Print Slides in my blog’s search box)

Because we’re being #BLESSED in the sunshine state with sunny 60 degree weather, I wore these mules with a light pink sweater and light wash denim skirt- I love pastel hues for spring. If mini skirts aren’t your style, I recommend wearing these shoes with your favorite pair of jeans! I wore them with ripped jeans just last Sunday for a barbecue and honestly they were just as comfy as sneakers would be, maybe even more! My only suggestion would have to be on sizing. I’m typically a size 6 and my feet aren’t wide so the size 6 fit just right. If you want more room and less snug I would suggest to size up about a half (ex: if my feet were wider, I would’ve gone up to the 6 and a half)

Any fun plans for the weekend? Can’t believe it’s fri-yay, y’all! Would love to hear from you loves (:
